COERR Mae Sot, Mae Sarieng and Kanchanaburi Organized Disaster Risk Reduction in Refugee Camps

During April-May, there have been several training held as follows:

   In April, COERR Mae Sot held a training in Ban Umpiem camp, Tak Province, during April 3-4, 2018. The course included risk reduction activity, training for awareness raising and response, especially the importance of community participation in disaster risk reduction: cause and effect of disasters; preparedness and management before, during and after disasters happening. There were 250 participants of 189 male and 61 female attending the training on April 3rd, and 200 participants of 146 male and 54 female attending the fire extinguishing, evacuation and first aid drill on April 4th, 2018.

   In Mae Sarieng area, COERR Mae Sarieng organized Disaster Risk Reduction on May 8, 2018 at Ban Mae Lama Luang for 215 young refugees: 136 male and 79 female, and on May 9, at Ban Mae La Oon for 183 refugees including 134 male and 49 female.

   Topic of the training were Floods, Landslides, Earthquake and Fire. Highlights were preparedness and prevention. Moreover, they also learn about first aid treatment for various injuries, such as cuts, burns and scalds, broken legs and arms, snake bite; evacuation of the injured, rescue of the drowning, etc.


Disaster Risk Reduction Training at Ban Mae Lama Luang on May 8, 2018 had 215 refugee youth attended.

      

      

Disaster Risk Reduction Training at Ban Mae La Oon camp on May 9th, 2018, had 183 youth participants

      

      

   Another Fire Prevention Training and Drill, held at Ban Mae Lama Luang camp on May 22nd, 2018, had 260 new participants including 144 female and 116 male.

    

    

This Fire Prevention Training and Drill, held at Ban Mae La Oon camp on May 23rd, 2018, had 261 participants including 201 male and 60 female.

    

    

   COERR Kanchanaburi organized Fire Prevention Training and Drill, held in 2 refugee camps:at Ban Tham Hin camp, Suan Phueng district, Ratchaburi province on May 18, 2561, had 173 participants, consisting 95 female and 78 male; at Ban Don Yang camp on May 30, 2018, had 159 participants consisting of 76 female and 83 male refugees.
